A shocking verdict has been delivered in the case of Kirsty Carless, who was found guilty of murdering her former partner, Louis Price, on Christmas Day in a crime fueled by intense anger and jealousy.
The Stafford Crown Court heard how Carless, 33, fatally stabbed Price, 31, in the heart, an act prosecutors argued was directly motivated by rage after she discovered his Tinder dating profile.
After approximately a day of deliberations, a jury of seven men and five women unanimously convicted Carless of both murder and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the fatal stabbing.
Further complicating the legal proceedings, Carless was also found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm stemming from an incident in November 2024, though she was acquitted of intentional strangulation in the same context.
Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Carless, from Cannock, Staffordshire, had been consuming double vodka and cokes with a male friend on Christmas Eve before the tragic events unfolded.
The catalyst for the deadly confrontation appeared to be a screenshot of Price’s Tinder profile, sent to Carless by a female friend at approximately 1:30 AM on Christmas Day, which reportedly incited her fury.
Chilling CCTV footage captured Carless sprinting towards Price’s home, pursuing him through the garden, before he was later discovered with a single stab wound on the conservatory floor, a scene of profound tragedy.
Testimonies from neighbors further painted a picture of past volatility, with one recalling an instance where Carless allegedly struck Price in the ribs with a metal pole outside her residence, highlighting a history of domestic violence.
Carless’s own account claimed she initially grabbed the knife with the intention of destroying the caravan where Price was staying in his parents’ backyard, stating she “panicked” after stabbing him and then fled the scene.
