Kinzua Rocks the Wake Levels Up: Comedy, Magic, Music, & Water Thrills

Kinzua Rocks the Wake is set to elevate the Labor Day weekend experience, transforming the annual event into an even more spectacular celebration by integrating captivating comedy, mesmerizing magic, and an array of beachside musical performances. This expanded festival promises an unforgettable end-of-summer experience, building upon its already thrilling foundation of high-octane water stunts, breathtaking jet ski acrobatics, and dynamic live concerts, ensuring continuous entertainment for all attendees.

Slated for August 30 to September 1, the event unfolds at the picturesque Kinzua Beach on the Allegheny Reservoir, offering a stunning natural backdrop for the diverse range of activities. Beyond the thrilling water shows, the family-friendly festival will also feature championship water skiing and freestyle flyboarding, complemented by a selection of tribute concerts, a variety of craft beers, and an enticing array of food trucks, catering to every taste and preference.

A key enhancement this year is the introduction of a dedicated lineup of magic and musical acts, poised to take the Kinzua Beach stage. Each day kicks off at noon with a live comedy magic show, meticulously designed to astonish and entertain in equal measure, according to the organizers. This new segment adds a fresh dimension of wonder and laughter, making the festival truly unique.

Leading the magical acts on August 30 is the renowned Mr. Kazam, a two-time Magician of the Year who has graced the stage of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us.” His performance promises a spellbinding display, featuring an assortment of floating objects, an intriguing trained snake, and even a live lie detector test, ensuring an interactive and awe-inspiring experience for the audience.

On August 31, the noon slot will be captivated by Sky Wands, an artist described as a modern-day court jester, who skillfully blends music, madness, and mayhem into his unique show. Sky Wands engages his audience through a combination of magic, active participation, vivid impressions, and rapid-fire improvisation, creating an atmosphere of spontaneous joy and unpredictable humor.

Concluding the magical trio on September 1 is Brenden Trojan, whose high-energy and hilarious show masterfully combines magic, intricate mind-reading, and extensive audience participation. His performance is crafted to deliver an unforgettable experience for the entire family, promising non-stop laughter and excitement with captivating sleight-of-hand and mind-bending mentalism.

Complementing the main stage attractions, regional singer-songwriters and acoustic duos will perform beachside throughout the weekend, serenading attendees between the adrenaline-pumping water shows. Their laid-back musical stylings will provide a relaxing counterpoint to the intense action brought by the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Team and Ski Extreme’s Flyboard and Freestyle Jetski Team, ensuring a balanced entertainment flow.

Casey Ferry, director of the Warren County Visitors Bureau, emphasized the continuous nature of the entertainment, stating, “We just didn’t want there to ever be a time when there was quiet. The idea is, as soon as something ends we want these musicians to jump on stage.” This commitment to uninterrupted fun ensures that the festival grounds remain vibrant and lively from start to finish.

The musical lineup includes notable talents such as singer-songwriter Dan Roche of Port Allegany, performing on August 30. Miranda Wilcox, an up-and-coming Western New York artist, will follow, with her final beach stage performance opening for the Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute. Kallie Williams, a local acoustic ukulelist from Warren, will entertain on August 31 with an eclectic set, while the duo Interstate Daydream will also perform, later opening for The Classic Rock Experience. On September 1, Doug Rigby will charm the crowd with classic rock and country tunes, solidifying a diverse and engaging musical program.
