The Republican National Committee (RNC) is making a significant investment in election integrity efforts across New Jersey and Virginia, strategically deploying teams ahead of the upcoming midterm elections to solidify Republican influence in these key states.
Historically, New Jersey has leaned Democratic, yet recent political shifts, particularly leading up to the 2024 presidential election, indicate a potential conservative trend. The RNC’s substantial financial commitment reflects their belief in the state’s evolving political landscape.
Similarly, Virginia is now viewed as an increasingly winnable state for Republicans, buoyed by Governor Glenn Youngkin’s 2023 victory and former President Donald Trump’s stronger-than-expected performance in the 2024 presidential election. These successes underscore the RNC’s strategic focus on the commonwealth.
A memo obtained by the Daily Caller reveals the RNC’s strategic deployment of election integrity staffers in both states. This includes a deputy state director for election integrity in New Jersey by April, followed by three regional directors in July focusing on specific districts.
The New Jersey team, which also includes an in-state counsel, is actively engaged in “Logic and Accuracy Testing” to verify the reliability and accuracy of voting equipment. They have also initiated open public records requests for incident reports and Seal Audit Logs for voting machines.
Political observers within the White House were reportedly monitoring the New Jersey governor’s race, prepared to intervene if Republicans approached a “striking distance.” Concurrently, RNC Chairman Michael Whatley recently led an election integrity training session in Northern Virginia, attracting approximately 50 citizens interested in becoming poll watchers or workers.
With midterm elections over a year away, the RNC’s ongoing initiatives aim to preserve the Republican majority in both the House and Senate. These comprehensive election integrity efforts, which have already seen significant six-figure investments in both states, represent the initial phase of their strategic campaign.
