Alternating Currents Festival Expands Bettendorf Offerings for 2025 Celebration

The highly anticipated Alternating Currents festival is set to bring an expanded array of cultural experiences to Bettendorf in 2025, promising an even richer tapestry of arts and entertainment for attendees. This significant development underscores the festival’s commitment to broad community engagement and its growth as a premier regional event, solidifying its presence across the Quad Cities.

Known for its diverse programming, the free festival encompasses over 200 music performances, alongside captivating comedy sets, insightful film screenings, dynamic live mural creations, and a myriad of visual art displays. These vibrant offerings are spread across more than 30 unique venues throughout Davenport, Bettendorf, and Rock Island, creating a truly immersive artistic landscape for all ages and interests to explore.

Founded in 2017 by the Downtown Davenport Partnership, an esteemed affiliate of the Quad Cities Chamber, Alternating Currents has consistently broadened its reach. Its strategic expansion into Bettendorf and Rock Island has been facilitated by crucial partnerships with organizations like the Downtown Bettendorf Organization (DBO) and the Rock Island Downtown Alliance, highlighting a collaborative effort to enrich the entire region.

Ryan Jantzi, executive director of the DBO, expressed enthusiasm for the increased number of downtown Bettendorf events slated for this year’s festival. Key local establishments such as Harley Corin’s, Verde, Adventurous Brewing, and K&K Hardware & Lumber are confirmed to host various performances, offering diverse settings for the festival’s extensive program.

The Bettendorf events kick off on Thursday, August 14th, with live music starting at K&K Hardware & Lumber. Attendees can enjoy performances by talented singer-songwriters Jordan Danielsen at 11 a.m., followed by Beth Lizano at 12:30 p.m. The evening continues with Lojo Russo taking the stage at Verde at 6 p.m., setting a vibrant tone for the festival’s duration.

Friday, August 15th, will see Adventurous Brewing become a focal point, featuring compelling live performances by Alexa Mueller at 11 a.m. and the energetic indie-punk band Felpup Five at 12:15 p.m. To enhance the experience, Floyd’s Burgers food truck will be on site, providing convenient dining options for festival-goers enjoying the music festival atmosphere.

The weekend culminates on Sunday, August 17th, with more Alternating Currents performances at Adventurous Brewing, including Company Dimes at 2 p.m. and Cough n’ Flop at 4 p.m. The arts festival will conclude its Bettendorf schedule at Harley Corin’s at 6 p.m., featuring the outlaw country band The Memphis Dives, ensuring a memorable close to the musical journey.
