Buffalo Bills Bolster Defense, Sign Veteran DE Kameron Cline

The Buffalo Bills have officially bolstered their defensive line, announcing the signing of experienced defensive end Kameron Cline. This strategic move comes as the team also confirmed the waiving of fellow defensive end Hayden Harris, indicating a clear direction in refining their roster ahead of the rigorous NFL season.

Cline, at 27 years old, brings a wealth of experience from his journey through the professional football ranks. Originally undrafted out of South Dakota in 2019, his talent was soon recognized, leading to his initial signing with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent, marking the start of his NFL career.

His tenure with the Colts saw him navigate the ebb and flow of an NFL roster, spending time both on and off the active roster from 2020 through 2023. This period provided him with valuable exposure and development within a professional football environment, shaping him into the player the Bills are now investing in.

After being waived by the Colts in May 2023, Cline quickly found a new home with the Buffalo Bills. He primarily served on Buffalo’s practice squad for the subsequent two years, consistently working to hone his skills. His journey briefly took him to the New York Jets’ practice squad in December 2024 before making his return to the Bills.

The signing of Kameron Cline represents more than just a roster change for the Buffalo Bills; it signifies a calculated effort to enhance their defensive depth and versatility. As a defensive end, Cline is expected to contribute to the pass rush and run defense, areas crucial for any successful NFL team looking to compete at the highest level.

Cline’s background as a versatile lineman, capable of operating effectively in various defensive schemes, makes him a valuable addition. His experience from previous stints in the league means he can integrate quickly, providing immediate competition and support for the existing defensive line unit, which is vital for sustained performance throughout a demanding season.

This move by the Buffalo Bills underscores their commitment to continuous improvement and strategic player acquisition. The addition of Kameron Cline reflects a proactive approach to ensure the team is well-equipped with experienced talent across all positions, aiming for a robust and resilient defense in the challenges that lie ahead in the competitive NFL landscape.
