A significant economic boon is set to invigorate the Colorado Springs economy as ITS, a distinguished veteran-owned aerospace and defense firm, announces a major expansion of its local operations. This strategic move is poised to inject over $7 million into the community while simultaneously creating approximately 500 new, high-paying aerospace defense jobs, underscoring the region’s growing prominence in the national defense sector.

Established in 2017, ITS (Infinity Technology Services) stands as an emerging leader in specialized fields crucial to modern defense, including information technology, advanced engineering, robust cybersecurity, and comprehensive technology solutions. As a minority-owned, certified service-disabled veteran-owned small business, ITS boasts extensive expertise across a wide array of critical areas, from full-scale enterprise information technology to intricate space systems and their associated ground systems, affirming its status as a key veteran business in the industry.

The announcement, made alongside Governor Jared Polis and prominent community and economic leaders from Colorado Springs and El Paso County, highlights the state’s strategic commitment to fostering its thriving aerospace and defense industry. Governor Polis emphasized Colorado’s robust ecosystem, which hosts over 2,000 aerospace companies and half of the nation’s Space Force, reinforcing the state’s pivotal role in national security and tech job growth.

The newly created positions promise substantial tech job growth within the region, encompassing roles such as network/infrastructure engineers, software engineers, cyber systems analysts, and computer systems technicians. These highly sought-after positions are expected to command an impressive average yearly salary of $130,482, which is double the average annual wage in El Paso County, significantly elevating the standard of living and contributing positively to the Colorado Springs economy.

Furthermore, the ITS company expansion includes a substantial investment exceeding $7 million. This capital will be utilized to expand physical space for personnel and to significantly advance the firm’s engineering capabilities, research and development initiatives, hardware and software solutions, and cutting-edge network communications and cybersecurity infrastructures. This investment solidifies ITS’s long-term commitment to innovation and sustained economic development Colorado.

Hassan Campbell, President and CEO of ITS, a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and veteran, articulated the company’s vision to attract top talent, aligning with the state and city’s goals for workforce development in the aerospace and defense sectors. He highlighted ITS’s impressive 92% employee retention rate and 90% recruitment rate, noting that three-quarters of the firm’s employees are either veterans or military reservists, further showcasing its commitment as a veteran business.

The collaborative support from state and local governments has been instrumental in facilitating this growth. The Colorado Economic Development Commission, for instance, approved job growth tax incentives over eight years, contingent on job creation and salary requirements being met. Similarly, the City of Colorado Springs’ Economic Development Department has extended support through talent and workforce development programs, including its innovative Rapid Response Team program, accelerating permitting processes for qualifying employers and promoting economic development Colorado.

ITS’s decision to expand in Colorado Springs reinforces the region’s burgeoning reputation as a national hub for aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity innovation. With 110 of its current 168 employees based in Colorado and global operations supporting over 35 Department of Defense and federal programs, this ITS company expansion is a testament to the skilled talent pool and strategic assets that define this vibrant region, ensuring continued growth in aerospace defense jobs.
