Garuda Indonesia, SIA Boost Travel: New Flights, Lounges, Miles Benefits

Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines are significantly enhancing their long-standing commercial partnership, ushering in a new era of convenience and connectivity for travelers across Southeast Asia. This deepened collaboration, effective from August 2025, promises a suite of enhanced travel benefits, including streamlined joint fare products, an expanded network of codeshare destinations, and exclusive reciprocal lounge access for frequent flyers, truly redefining the air travel experience between Singapore and Indonesia.

A cornerstone of this strengthened alliance is the introduction of joint fare products, which offer passengers unparalleled flexibility when booking flights between Singapore and key Indonesian hubs such as Jakarta, Denpasar, and Surabaya. Singapore Airlines will now facilitate joint sales, allowing travelers to effortlessly book itineraries that seamlessly combine flights operated by both carriers on a single ticket. This innovation not only provides a wider array of fare choices but also simplifies the booking process, ensuring more competitive pricing and a more accessible travel journey for all.

The partnership also features a substantial expansion of the airlines’ codeshare arrangements, unlocking new horizons for travelers. Garuda Indonesia will now extend its reach to four additional crucial Singapore Airlines destinations: Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Delhi in India, alongside Malé in the Maldives. These strategically chosen routes cater to both leisure and business travelers, connecting vibrant urban centers with sought-after tourist hotspots, thus broadening the air travel options available from Indonesia.

Conversely, Singapore Airlines customers will gain reciprocal access to an enriched network of destinations within Indonesia via Garuda Indonesia’s services. This includes vital routes such as Denpasar to Labuan Bajo, Jakarta to Labuan Bajo, Lombok, and Manado. This expansion is designed to facilitate easier exploration of Indonesia’s diverse landscapes, from Bali’s renowned beaches to the unique ecosystem of Komodo National Park near Labuan Bajo, providing seamless codeshare flights and more direct access to these captivating locales.

A notable enhancement for loyal patrons of both carriers is the provision of reciprocal lounge access, a highly valued travel benefit for frequent flyers. Members of GarudaMiles and KrisFlyer programs can now enjoy the comforts and amenities of a broader selection of lounges at various airports, including the prestigious Garuda Executive Lounge and KrisFlyer Gold Lounges in Singapore, as well as the exclusive Business Class SilverKris lounges. This premium offering elevates the pre-flight experience, ensuring comfort and convenience for those traveling on key routes between Singapore and Indonesian cities.

Beyond lounge access, the revamped airline partnership also empowers GarudaMiles and KrisFlyer members to earn and redeem miles across the newly expanded codeshare routes. This significant upgrade enhances the value proposition of both frequent flyer programs, allowing travelers to accrue and utilize their miles on a much wider spectrum of flights. Whether for business or leisure, passengers can now maximize their rewards, making their journeys even more rewarding and cost-effective through this comprehensive Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia collaboration.

Responding to surging demand for air travel between Singapore and Indonesia, both carriers are also boosting flight frequencies on pivotal routes. Singapore Airlines has already increased its Singapore-Jakarta service to nine daily flights as of May 2025, up from eight. Similarly, Garuda Indonesia plans to elevate its Jakarta-Singapore frequency to seven daily flights from six in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approval. These increased capacities will further enhance connectivity and provide greater flexibility for travelers seeking convenient flight times.

Ultimately, this strengthened airline partnership extends beyond merely improving travel benefits for passengers; it is poised to foster a more robust relationship between Singapore and Indonesia. By enhancing connectivity and refining air travel services, both Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines are actively supporting the burgeoning flow of business, tourism, and cultural exchange. This collaboration sets a new benchmark for regional aviation, promising more seamless travel opportunities and reinforcing the strategic importance of both nations in the global aviation landscape.
