ICE Busts Convicted Criminals: Child Rapist, Violent Offenders Deported

A recent, impactful operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has culminated in the apprehension of multiple foreign nationals who were illegally present in the United States and possessed extensive criminal records, including severe offenses against children. These targeted ICE arrests underscore the agency’s steadfast commitment to enhancing public safety by removing dangerous individuals from communities across the nation.

Among those taken into custody was Mohammed Sesay, a Sierra Leone national with a chilling history. A decade ago, Sesay was convicted in Maryland for the repeated rape of an 11-year-old girl over a five-month period in 2014. Disturbingly, he had threatened to kill his young victim if she ever spoke about the abuse, highlighting the extreme danger he posed to the public.

Sesay’s horrific actions only came to light following an “assault” during a family gathering, which prompted the victim’s father to learn of the prolonged abuse. This case, a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities of children, emphasizes the critical role of law enforcement in addressing such egregious child sex crimes and ensuring justice for victims.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin articulated the profound impact of these cases, stating, “What these innocent children had to endure is horrifying: a criminal illegal alien raping an 11-year-old child 15 different times; a pedophile; innocent children who were struck and injured by an illegal alien driving drunk, sending one child to intensive care. These criminals should have never been in this country in the first place, and these children should have never been victimized.” Her words underscore the urgency of these deportation efforts.

The extensive enforcement operation was part of a week-long initiative led by ICE and various federal, state, and local agencies within the Houston, Texas, area. This broad sweep resulted in a total of 646 arrests of individuals present in the country illegally, demonstrating the scale and comprehensive nature of ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.

Another individual apprehended was Alex Ventura, a Salvadoran national with a conviction for drunk driving that resulted in severe injuries to six children in a 2022 crash, leaving one child with a fractured skull. Such incidents highlight the severe consequences of criminal activity by individuals who evade legal entry and residency requirements, jeopardizing community well-being and public safety.

Further arrests included Jose David Contreras-Sierra, a Venezuelan national with a long rap sheet in Rockville, Maryland, encompassing armed robbery, handgun use during a felony, first-degree assault, and drug distribution. Additionally, Dominican national Deibe Ramos-Rodriguez was convicted of alien smuggling, and Daniel Gutierrez-Leiva of Guatemala, arrested by ICE Baltimore, has a second-degree rape conviction in Maryland, reinforcing the pattern of serious criminal behavior among those targeted by these operations.

The operation also saw the arrest of Wilbert Rudlof Wiebe-Thiessen, a 34-year-old Mexican citizen, who faces charges in Texas for assaulting a family or household member by impeding their breath or circulation and terroristic threats causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury. These cases collectively demonstrate the diverse range of violent crimes committed by the individuals ICE is actively pursuing as part of their deportation efforts.

These announcements align with ICE’s ongoing strategy to highlight its “Worst of the Worst” arrests, as the agency continues its efforts to ramp up deportations and recruit more agents, including through new ad campaigns and bonuses. The concerted focus on these dangerous criminal aliens emphasizes the persistent commitment to uphold national security and public safety through robust immigration enforcement.
