Adding to the excitement, fan favourite Kate Ceberano will also grace the stage, further elevating the musical experience for attendees. This collaborative effort guarantees a diverse and powerful presentation of Australian musical heritage.

A special highlight of the ‘Working Class Man’ 40th Anniversary Tour is Jimmy Barnes’s commitment to performing every track from his iconic 1985 album, “For the Working Class Man.” This album, which swiftly climbed to number one in Australia upon its release, features not only the titular track but also beloved classics such as “Paradise” and “I’d Die to Be with You Tonight.” Audiences will have the rare opportunity to experience the entire record live, just as it was originally conceived.

The extensive tour itinerary spans across several key Australian locations. Each stop on the tour provides a unique opportunity for fans to connect with the raw energy and heartfelt lyrics that define his legacy.

Intriguingly, Jimmy Barnes recently disclosed the true genesis of the “Working Class Man” song, revealing that, contrary to popular belief, it was not initially written about him. He recounted meeting musician Jonathan Cain, the song’s composer, who was captivated by Barnes’s vivid description of his audience – dedicated factory workers who would unwind with explosive energy on a Saturday night. This candid revelation sheds new light on the track’s origins.

Barnes vividly described his conversation with Cain, explaining, “I told him [Cain] about my audience being hard working, doing nine-to-five in factories, and come Saturday night, kicking their heels up and going berserk. You could see him taking it all in.” Approximately a week later, Cain presented Barnes with the song. Barnes’s initial candid reaction was one of surprise, admitting, “And my immediate gut reaction was, ‘Oh f…, he’s written a song about me called Working Class Man, how cliché is that?’” This anecdote highlights the unexpected inspiration and the journey of a song that would become an anthem.
