The Cardale community mourns the passing of Kathy L. Lawson, a cherished faith leader whose profound impact resonated through her unwavering devotion to her Lord, her loving family, and dedicated community service. Kathy departed on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the age of 69, surrounded by her beloved family, leaving behind a legacy of faithfulness and joy that touched countless lives.
For a lifetime, Kathy served her Lord with an inspiring commitment, dedicating her energies to her church, most notably as a distinguished church administrator at Fresh Fire Church in Uniontown. Her leadership and active membership at Fresh Fire Church underscored her deep spiritual roots and her tireless efforts to nurture her congregation.
Her enduring love for music, worship, and the profound wisdom of the Word of God served as the bedrock of her unshakeable faith. This spiritual foundation fortified her through life’s most challenging moments, guiding her path and inspiring those around her with her resilient spirit.
Beyond her ecclesiastical contributions, Kathy found immense happiness in her personal life. Her greatest joys included precious moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchild, the thrill of Steelers football, and the profound satisfaction derived from serving and working for her Lord, embodying a life rich in love and purpose.
Kathy L. Lawson was preceded in death by several family members who held a special place in her heart: her parents, Earl and Catherine Savage of McHenry, Md.; her brother, Lanny Savage of Mount Airy, Md.; and her brother-in-law, Neil Henline of Brunswick, Ohio. Tragically, she also endured the loss of her two twin sons, Jason and Mark Lawson Jr.
Her memory is cherished and kept alive by her devoted surviving family. This includes her daughter, Carrie Frantz, and her husband Mickey, along with step-grandchildren Hunter and Hannah Frantz of Canonsburg. Her son, Adam Lawson of Uniontown, also survives her, as do her grandchildren, Brooke, Dakota, and McKenzie Lawson, and great-grandson, Warren Lawson, all residing in Dallas, Texas.
Adding immense joy and laughter to her later years was her beloved partner, Rick Joseph, who also survives her and will continue to cherish their shared memories. A memorial service will be held to honor Kathy’s remarkable life at Fresh Fire Church, 171 Connellsville Street, Uniontown, on Saturday, August 2, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon, officiated by Pastor Donny Hinkle.
