RFA Gymnastics Hosts Coed Bocce Tournament Fundraiser in Rome

The Rome Free Academy (RFA) girls gymnastics program is orchestrating a unique fundraising endeavor, inviting the community to participate in a coed bocce tournament designed to bolster their athletic season.

Scheduled for August 15 and 16, this exciting event will unfold at the venerable Galliano Club, a local landmark, promising two days of friendly competition and community spirit for all participants, regardless of their bocce prowess.

The primary objective of this coed bocce tournament is to secure vital funds, which will directly support the RFA girls gymnastics team. These contributions are crucial for covering expenses related to equipment, travel, and competition fees, ensuring the athletes have the resources needed to excel.

Under the dedicated guidance of Coach Kevin Perrone, the RFA gymnastics team represents a commitment to discipline, teamwork, and athletic excellence among young student-athletes in the Rome community. Their rigorous training and preparation are geared towards a successful season ahead.

Looking beyond the fundraiser, the team is diligently preparing for their inaugural meet of the season. Their competitive schedule commences precisely at 5:30 p.m. on September 12, marking an anticipated clash.

This initial face-off will see the RFA gymnasts go head-to-head against the combined forces of East Syracuse-Minoa and Liverpool. The intense competition is slated to take place at Valley Gymnastics in New Hartford, setting the stage for an exciting start to their campaign.

The success of the bocce tournament is contingent upon robust community engagement and support. Events like this not only provide essential financial backing but also foster a strong sense of unity and pride around local high school athletics and youth sports programs.
