During his recent state visit, Donald Trump made his long-standing skepticism towards wind power abundantly clear, describing the technology in pejorative terms and directly raising his concerns during discussions with Scottish First Minister John Swinney. This strong lobbying effort underscored Trump’s consistent opposition to wind energy, a stance he has maintained for years.
Despite the high-profile intervention from the former American leader, the Scottish Government proceeded with issuing the necessary licenses for the colossal Berwick Bank project. SSE, the primary developer behind the initiative, has confidently declared the Berwick Bank to be the largest offshore windfarm globally.
