Unraveling the Mystery: Woman Found with 26 iPhones Glued to Her Body

Brazilian investigators are grappling with a perplexing case following the discovery of a young woman found deceased with an astonishing 26 iPhones inexplicably glued to her body, a revelation that has spurred a new, unsettling theory about her final moments.

The tragic incident unfolded on July 29, when the 20-year-old woman became critically ill while traveling on a bus en route from Foz do Iguaçu to São Paulo. The vehicle made an unscheduled stop at a restaurant in the city of Guarapuava, located in the central region of Paraná, due to her deteriorating condition.

Upon her collapse, emergency responders initiated a desperate 45-minute resuscitation attempt, but despite their efforts, she sadly succumbed to a cardiac arrest. It was in the grim aftermath of her death that the truly bizarre nature of the case began to surface, as investigators processed the scene.

During the post-mortem examination and initial investigation, authorities were stunned to find multiple packages adhered to the woman’s body. In addition to the numerous mobile phones, hidden compartments within her luggage also yielded more concealed items, including various drinks, further deepening the mystery surrounding her journey.

A new, compelling theory has since emerged from the investigating authorities, suggesting that the young woman was actively involved in smuggling items prior to her death. The discovery of the meticulously affixed iPhones and other contraband profoundly reinforced the hypothesis of illicit trafficking as the primary explanation for the unusual circumstances.

Following the initial findings, the woman’s body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Institute for a comprehensive examination, aimed at uncovering further clues regarding her demise. Concurrently, all the seized items, including the 26 mobile phones, were meticulously documented and transported to the headquarters of the federal police, who have now taken charge of the complex investigation.

Preliminary reports indicated that the woman displayed symptoms consistent with a post-seizure event and suffered from severe respiratory distress, although the exact cause of her sudden illness remains a critical focus of the ongoing inquiry. Police statements, as reported by Brazilian news outlet Globo, confirmed her solo travel and the confiscation of the devices.

Law enforcement officials specifically highlighted that the 26 cell phones, which were found securely glued to her body, were immediately seized as evidence. These items have since been handed over to the Federal Revenue Service, underscoring the serious implications of the suspected illegal trafficking operation.
