Sam Suriakumar, a 40-year-old resident of Worcester Park, south London, initially dismissed the pervasive chemical scent as residual cleaning fumes at his home. The overwhelming aroma, described as filling his mouth, was accompanied by disorienting dizziness, yet he attributed it to mundane household activities.
However, the perplexing symptom intensified the following day during a routine gym session.
