The Red River Valley Fairgrounds is set to host a vibrant weekend of diverse entertainment, highlighted by the return of the popular Renaissance Faire alongside an array of musical performances and cultural events.
This annual tradition, transforming the West Fargo venue into a medieval wonderland, promises two full weekends of family-friendly fun. Visitors can expect to be transported back to ancient Europe, immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the Middle Ages, with jesters, sword fights, acrobats, and magical acts delighting attendees.
Complementing the medieval merriment, the Plains Art Museum will host its Japan Art Festival. Inspired by its “Floating Beauty: Women in the Art of Ukiyo-e” exhibit, this festival invites guests to explore Japanese life and culture, including the significance of geisha and the historical Miss Konko doll, alongside opportunities to engage in traditional art forms.
Music enthusiasts can look forward to country sensation Warren Zeiders performing at the Essentia Health Plaza at The Lights. Known for hits like “Ride the Lightning” and “Pretty Little Poison,” Zeiders’ performance promises a high-energy evening, following recent recognition from prominent figures.
The Fargo Blues Festival also makes its anticipated return, promising two days of soulful performances at Newman Outdoor Field. Guitar hero Anthony Gomes will headline, supported by a lineup of esteemed acts including Robert Jon & The Wreck, Parker Barrow, and Brandon Santini, kicking off a weekend of blues music.
Families with young children can enjoy Kidchella, a free event at Essentia Health Plaza. This vibrant gathering offers kid yoga, a dance party, various activities, and a special concert by Koo Koo (formerly Koo Koo Kangaroo), ensuring a day of joyful engagement for the younger audience.
Jazz aficionados are invited to the Kicks Band Jazz Festival at Gooseberry Park, Moorhead. This free Sunday afternoon concert will feature an impressive roster of local talent, including the Red River Jazz Orchestra, various youth jazz ensembles, Amy Johnson Combo, Russ Peterson and the Funk Commission, and the FM Kicks Band, providing a diverse jazz experience.
Rounding out the musical offerings, pop-soul band Fitz and the Tantrums will bring their dynamic live show to the UP District Festival Field.
