City Cup Legends Return for Epic Old Timers Throwback Game

Anticipation builds as the legendary City Cup baseball greats prepare to return to Bradner Stadium for a nostalgic 1-Inning Old Timers Game, scheduled for Friday, August 8th, at 7:45 p.m.

This special event will feature an impressive roster of retired City Cup players, including a significant number of the 50 esteemed Calvert Cup MVPs, such as the renowned Dan Butler and Cam Stuckey, who are eager to participate in this memorable throwback game.

Adding to the prestige, the field will also welcome back 25 distinguished David Lee Golden Glove winners, from the legendary Billy Bizzaro to the skilled Garret Babcock, each ready to showcase their enduring talent and receive a well-earned round of applause from the local sports community.

More than just a game, this gathering serves as a vibrant reunion, offering these baseball legends a cherished opportunity to dust off their gloves, relive past glories, and connect with fans who remember their indelible contributions to local baseball.

Organizers have outlined a relaxed yet engaging format, prioritizing safe play for all participants. A pitching guard will be utilized on the mound, and courtesy runners will be permitted, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for every player on the field.

As shared by Billy Bizzaro, the game will adapt to the number of participants, with players being split into two balanced teams. Each team will bat through its entire lineup once, promising an action-packed, single-inning contest that celebrates the spirit of the game.

In a nod to the event’s fun-first philosophy, Bizzaro humorously noted that in the event of a tie after the single inning, the winner would simply be decided by a coin flip, emphasizing camaraderie and good sportsmanship over fierce competition among the baseball legends.

This community event, celebrating the rich history of local sports, promises an evening of entertainment and nostalgia for fans of all ages. Spectators are encouraged to join at Bradner Stadium to witness these beloved City Cup greats in action, creating new memories while honoring old ones.
