Dead & Company 60th Anniversary: IMAX Concert & Streaming Options Revealed

As the legendary Grateful Dead mark their monumental 60th anniversary, fans across the globe are eagerly anticipating a series of commemorative events, headlined by Dead & Company’s highly anticipated Dead & Company Concerts in San Francisco. This celebration extends beyond the live stage, offering diverse viewing opportunities for enthusiasts to partake in the historic milestone, ensuring no one misses out on the vibrant musical tribute.

The centerpiece of this grand celebration is Dead & Company’s three-night engagement at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, spanning August 1-3. These San Francisco Events are meticulously timed to honor the six-decade legacy of the Grateful Dead, featuring core members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart alongside the acclaimed John Mayer, promising an unforgettable journey through the band’s iconic discography.

For those unable to attend the Live Music Streaming in person, the final night’s performance on August 3rd will be available for an unparalleled IMAX Concert Experience. Approximately 30 select IMAX locations across the U.S. and Canada will broadcast the show live, offering attendees an immersive big-screen encounter, complete with exclusive mini-posters and concert lanyards at participating theaters.

Beyond the live concert, fans can also immerse themselves in the rich history of the band through the “Meet-Up At The Movies” event. This cinematic offering features screenings of “The Grateful Dead Movie,” a 1977 film co-directed by Jerry Garcia, capturing the band’s legendary 1974 Winterland Ballroom shows. This special screening, available in both standard and select IMAX theaters from August 13-20, includes a bonus live performance, further solidifying the Grateful Dead Anniversary festivities.

For ultimate flexibility, all three weekend performances can be streamed from the comfort of home via Nugs.net. Fans have the option of single-night or three-night access, with choices for both HD and 4K video quality, providing a premium Live Music Streaming experience. Purchases also grant 48-hour on-demand access post-event and a 60-day all-access pass to Nugs.net’s extensive archive, including past performances from various artists, truly reviving the spirit of Classic Rock Revived.

The celebratory mood continues into September with the release of the “Blues for Allah” 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. This newly remastered album, available as a 3-CD set and digital download on September 12, features nearly two hours of previously unreleased recordings. These include live performances of five songs from the album, captured during a 1976 show at the Tower Theatre in Pennsylvania, adding another layer to the enduring Grateful Dead Anniversary celebrations.

Listeners can get a taste of this landmark release by enjoying the newly remastered version of “The Music Never Stopped,” the first single from the original “Blues for Allah” album, now streaming on Nugs.net and YouTube. David Lemieux, Grateful Dead legacy manager and archivist, notes that this track, a “fanciful take of life on the road,” consistently resonated with fans, underscoring the timeless appeal of the Grateful Dead’s musical journey and its profound cultural impact, especially for those seeking to experience Classic Rock Revived.
