Goodwood 2025: Jm Jungle Claims King George Stakes Glory

The highly anticipated Glorious Goodwood Festival 2025 saw exhilarating finishes and standout performances, with Jm Jungle delivering a thrilling victory in the prestigious King George Stakes.

John and Sean Quinn’s remarkable five-year-old, Jm Jungle, showcased exceptional speed and tenacity to secure the Group Two sprint on the fourth day of the West Sussex event, marking a significant step up from his high-class handicapping career to a Group Two triumph.

Under the masterful guidance of jockey Jason Hart, Jm Jungle broke sharply and maintained a commanding position near the front of the pack, holding off late challengers to win by a neck from She’s Quality, with Harry Eustace’s Time For Sandals finishing a creditable third despite dropping in distance.

The impressive performance has now set Jm Jungle on a course for Group One aspirations, with connections confirming a tilt at the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes at York’s Ebor meeting, a race previously conquered by the stable’s Highfield Princess.

Beyond Jm Jungle’s success, the Coral Golden Mile provided its own drama as Goodwood specialist Rhoscolyn, ridden by Daniel Tudhope, burst through to land his sixth course victory, demonstrating his prowess on the rain-softened turf and reaffirming his status as a formidable miler.

Further excitement unfolded in the Group Three Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes, where Seagulls Eleven, trained by Hugo Palmer and co-owned by a syndicate including former footballers James Milner and Adam Lallana, flew to victory under Oisin Murphy, leading almost from start to finish.

The day’s opener, the Coral Goodwood Handicap, also delivered a dominant performance with Kyle Of Lochalsh, guided by Oisin Murphy, running out a wide-margin winner, stretching clear by over nine lengths to cap off a series of impressive displays.

The Glorious Goodwood Festival continues to deliver top-tier racing, with anticipation building for the final day where horses like Al Aasy, Sam Hawkens, and Spirit Of Farhh are among those tipped to potentially secure Saturday victories, promising more thrilling action for racing enthusiasts.

These victories collectively underscored a spectacular day of racing at Glorious Goodwood 2025, solidifying the reputations of both seasoned champions and rising stars in the thoroughbred world, and setting the stage for future Group One clashes.
