Hammer The Hammer Poised for Stewards’ Cup Win at Glorious Goodwood

The anticipation for Glorious Goodwood 2025 reaches its zenith as all eyes turn to Kevin Ryan’s promising Thoroughbred, Hammer The Hammer, a leading contender poised to secure a significant victory in the prestigious Coral Stewards’ Cup (Heritage Handicap) on the final day of the celebrated meeting. This highly competitive six-furlong sprint presents a formidable challenge, yet the gelding’s recent form suggests he is primed for his biggest career success, offering valuable Racing Tips for punters.

Hammer The Hammer, expertly ridden by Tom Eaves, has demonstrated remarkable progression throughout the current Horse Racing season. After two juvenile starts, he returned to the track in February, securing a second place at Southwell over five furlongs before confidently shedding his maiden tag at the same all-weather venue the following month. His subsequent handicap debut off a mark of 80 saw him achieve a wide-margin win back at Southwell, showcasing his capability over six furlongs.

The gelding’s impressive form continued at Chester’s May Festival, where he landed another six-furlong handicap victory despite facing the challenge of a wide draw from stall 10. His consistent performance was further highlighted at Royal Ascot in June, where he finished a strong second, just a length behind Adrestia in the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes Handicap. This solid run against high-caliber competition underscores his potential to develop into a Group-class performer within the Goodwood 2025 events.

With his optimal distance appearing to be six furlongs, Hammer The Hammer still maintains what appears to be a favorable handicap mark. While a low draw in stall four could present a minor hurdle, his current trajectory and proven ability make him a formidable force in the Stewards’ Cup, positioning him as the likely candidate to come out on top amidst a strong field.

Beyond Hammer The Hammer, the Stewards’ Cup features other notable contenders. Last year’s winner, renowned for securing victory from stall 27 and also claiming the Wokingham Handicap, is expected to perform strongly for trainer George Baker. Similarly, Richard Fahey’s runner, drawn in 21, consistently features in top handicaps and could secure a place, with several bookmakers offering payouts down to sixth or seventh positions for Horse Racing enthusiasts.

The Glorious Goodwood meeting extends beyond the Stewards’ Cup, featuring other compelling races. In the Group Two Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes, the six-year-old mare, a previous winner under Henry De Bromhead, is tipped to repeat her success for William Haggas. Additionally, Haggas’s stable-mate is fancied to win the Group Three Coral Glorious Stakes for a second consecutive year, having shown resilience despite recent outings, providing more Racing Tips for the day.

Other trainers have also enjoyed a successful week at Goodwood 2025. Eve Johnson Houghton, already celebrating wins with Zavateri and Great Acclaim, looks to continue her form with another strong contender in the Whispering Angel Handicap. Andrew Balding’s three-year-old Thoroughbred is also showing great promise, having won twice in three starts, making him a horse to watch in the Coral Golden Rewards Shaker Handicap.

The Horse Racing action isn’t confined to Goodwood. At Newmarket, Richard Hannon’s runner is expected to perform well in the Turners Handicap, while at Thirsk, Mark Walford’s course and distance winner leads a promising field. Other potential scorers at the Yorkshire track include Mick Appleby’s seven-year-old and Geoff Oldroyd-trained unbeaten hat-trick seeker, further enriching the day’s Racing Tips landscape.

As the final day of Glorious Goodwood unfolds, the focus remains on Hammer The Hammer’s bid for glory in the Stewards’ Cup. The comprehensive racing schedule across multiple venues promises an exhilarating day for enthusiasts, with numerous opportunities for upsets and stellar performances across the diverse and competitive racecards for all Thoroughbred aficionados.
