High School Basketball Phenom Brandon Bass Jr. Reveals Collegiate Finalists

The highly anticipated college recruitment of Brandon Bass Jr., a standout high school basketball talent from Windermere Preparatory School in Florida, is nearing its thrilling conclusion as the coveted prospect has officially unveiled his top three collegiate choices.

The 6-foot-5 senior shooting guard, who commands national attention as one of the nation’s premier players, has narrowed his focus to an elite trio of programs: Florida State, LSU, and Purdue, setting the stage for a pivotal decision that will shape his future in college basketball.

With his decision on the horizon, Bass Jr. is scheduled to embark on two crucial official visits this autumn. His first stop is slated for August 29th at Florida State, followed by an equally significant trip to LSU sometime in September, critical steps in his comprehensive college recruiting process.

Son of 12-year National Basketball Association (NBA) veteran Brandon Bass, the younger Bass carries a rich basketball lineage, hinting at the potential for a professional career that many observers believe awaits him beyond his collegiate tenure. His pedigree adds another layer of intrigue to his high-stakes college recruiting.

During the 2024-2025 high school basketball season, Bass Jr. showcased remarkable prowess, averaging an impressive 20.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. His efficiency was evident in his shooting percentages, hitting 40% from the field and 33% from beyond the arc.

Throughout his high school career, Bass has maintained consistently strong numbers, averaging 17.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, with shooting splits of 44% from the field and 38% from three-point range. Notably, he cemented his legacy in January by setting a school record with a phenomenal 43 points in a single game against Centennial.

Widely recognized for his exceptional talent, Brandon Bass Jr. is currently ranked as the No. 81 player nationally, the No. 12 shooting guard, and the No. 16 overall prospect in the state of Florida for the highly competitive Class of 2026, according to prominent scouting services. These rankings underscore his status as a priority target in high school basketball recruiting.

While a definitive announcement date for his college commitment remains undisclosed, expectations are high that Bass Jr. will reveal his decision following his official visits this fall and prior to the commencement of his much-anticipated senior season, capping off a significant chapter in his promising college recruiting journey.
