Hyundai Motor America has reported unprecedented sales figures for July 2025, marking an all-time record for both total and retail sales, driven significantly by a surging demand for its electrified vehicle lineup.
The company achieved a remarkable 15% increase in total sales compared to July 2024, reaching 79,543 units. This historic performance was bolstered by record-breaking sales across several key models, including the Elantra HEV, Palisade, IONIQ 5, and the broader Santa Fe family, showcasing the diverse appeal of Hyundai’s current offerings.
A pivotal factor in this success was the monumental 50% jump in electrified vehicle sales for July, underscoring Hyundai’s robust momentum in the sustainable mobility sector. The continuous growth in EV, HEV, and other electrified segments solidifies the brand’s commitment to and leadership in environmentally conscious automotive solutions.
Retail sales also demonstrated significant strength, climbing 18% to 73,064 units over the same period last year. Electrified vehicles constituted a substantial 32% of the total retail sales mix, with the IONIQ 5 leading this charge with an impressive 71% increase in its own retail sales.
Beyond electrification, the Santa Fe family and Palisade continued their strong market presence, with retail sales increasing by 54% and 59% respectively. Notably, the Santa Fe HEV achieved its best-ever retail sales month, soaring by 152%, indicating a powerful consumer shift towards hybrid SUV options.
Randy Parker, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, affirmed the outstanding results, highlighting the company’s ability to deliver an innovative and resonant lineup. These figures not only reflect strong market demand but also Hyundai’s strategic success in expanding its footprint across various vehicle segments and powertrain types.
This sales triumph comes alongside significant corporate recognition, including Hyundai Motor Group’s inclusion in TIME magazine’s “The 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025,” lauded as an “Automotive Darkhorse.” Such accolades further validate the company’s growing influence and innovation within the global automotive landscape.
Looking ahead, Hyundai is poised for continued growth with the upcoming release of the all-new 2026 Palisade, featuring bold new attributes. The company also made waves by showcasing the IONIQ 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, signaling a pivotal step in Hyundai N’s electrification journey and redefining high-performance electric vehicles.
Hyundai’s commitment extends to an excellent customer experience, as evidenced by the launch of a new benefits program offering discounts and Bluelink services. With significant U.S. operations, including manufacturing plants and R&D facilities, Hyundai continues to contribute substantially to the U.S. economy, reinforcing its deep roots and future vision in the American market.
