Londonderry High School’s softball sensation, Elisabeth Kearney, has been deservingly named the June Union Leader Athlete of the Month, a testament to her unparalleled skill and leadership that propelled the Londonderry Lancers to their second consecutive NHIAA Division I Championship.
Kearney, a formidable pitcher on the high school softball team, showcased extraordinary command of the mound throughout the season, culminating in her sixth no-hitter. Her signature curveball proved to be an unhittable force, consistently baffling opposing batters and securing crucial strikeouts, including a remarkable 17-strikeout performance in a key playoff game.
The junior ace’s stellar contributions were central to Londonderry’s historic undefeated 22-0 season, a remarkable feat that underscored the team’s dominance in New Hampshire Sports. This flawless record culminated in a hard-fought victory, solidifying their status as back-to-back state champions in NHIAA Championship play.
Beyond her individual prowess, Elisabeth Kearney’s success was also a reflection of strong team cohesion and strategic play.
