Mesnes Park in Newton is poised to become the vibrant epicenter of community celebration and musical revelry this weekend, hosting both the cherished Newton Town Show and a highly-anticipated music festival.
Since its revitalization in 2013, the Newton Town Show has consistently captivated residents, evolving into a beloved annual attraction thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Newton and Earlestown Community Group. This long-standing commitment underscores the event’s deep roots within the local community events calendar.
Attendees of the Town Show can look forward to an array of attractions designed for family fun, including a lively funfair operating from Friday through Sunday. The main event, commencing Saturday, August 2nd at 11 am, promises a traditional brass band performance alongside a diverse selection of stall holders offering local crafts, food, and beverages.
Building upon the burgeoning success of the Town Show, organizers took a significant step last year by relaunching the Newton Music Festival. This marked a monumental return, representing the first major live music event organized in Newton in over two decades, signifying a new era for local entertainment.
Scheduled to unfold on Saturday, August 2nd, the Newton Music Festival will also animate Mesnes Park, transforming it into an outdoor concert venue. This strategic co-location with the Town Show ensures a seamless transition for attendees, offering an entire day filled with diverse attractions.
The festival boasts an impressive lineup of musical talent, promising a dynamic experience for all tastes. Confirmed acts include the popular band The K’s, performing alongside Megan Wynn, Alex Spencer, Gondolas, and Freight, ensuring a broad spectrum of sounds for festival-goers.
Adding to the excitement, The Bemonts are also scheduled to grace the stage, further solidifying the Newton events calendar with this premier music festival. Their inclusion promises to round out an already stellar roster of artists.
