US Envoys Mark 100 Millionth Meal Milestone at Gaza Aid Site

Steve Witkoff, the United States Special Envoy to the Middle East, alongside Mike Huckabee, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, recently conducted a pivotal tour of a humanitarian aid distribution center operated by the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). This significant visit coincided with the organization’s monumental achievement of distributing its 100 millionth meal to residents in need.

For over five hours, both Witkoff and Huckabee meticulously observed the GHF’s robust operations, witnessing firsthand the methodical distribution of critical aid to civilians across the Gaza Strip. Their comprehensive assessment of the site conditions was designed to provide a crucial, unvarnished report back to President Donald Trump regarding the foundation’s ongoing, vital work.

Witkoff explicitly stated the primary objective of their visit was to furnish President Trump with “a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation and help craft a plan to deliver food and medical aid to the people of Gaza.” This tour formed part of Witkoff’s broader multi-day trip to Israel, where he engaged with various Israeli officials to deliberate on the complex humanitarian landscape in Gaza. The visit underscored the ongoing efforts in Middle East diplomacy.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is instrumental in executing President Trump’s strategic initiative, which is singularly focused on channeling humanitarian aid directly to Gazan civilians while simultaneously preventing any interception by Hamas. This particular challenge has been a persistent obstacle since the inception of the conflict, making GHF’s dedicated efforts in Gaza civilian relief all the more critical.

A significant highlight of their work, GHF proudly announced hitting a new milestone on Friday, having distributed its 100 millionth meal since commencing operations to feed Gazan civilians on May 26. According to GHF, their meticulously packed aid boxes are designed to sustain a family of 5.5 for approximately 3.5 days, providing three meals per day, with contents varying based on availability and cost but adhering to similar ingredient lists utilized by other humanitarian aid groups.

Despite this monumental achievement, GHF Executive Chairman Rev. Johnnie Moore described the milestone as “bittersweet.” He lamented the continued scarcity of aid flowing into Gaza from other humanitarian groups, attributing this shortfall to either a lack of safe delivery capability or an unwillingness to collaborate with entities that can effectively operate in the region. This highlights the complex landscape of aid distribution.

Further exacerbating the crisis, compelling data and video evidence, including a report by The Daily Wire, reveal a chaotic scene where numerous UN aid trucks have been intercepted. Between May and July of this year, 1,753 trucks intended for aid distribution were either peacefully acquired by hungry civilians or forcefully seized by armed actors, severely limiting the number of successful deliveries to UN warehouses.

In response to accusations labeling their distribution sites as dangerous, GHF has vehemently defended its operations, asserting that aid supplies are efficiently distributed daily to thankful Gazan civilians. Johnnie Moore, the GHF executive chairman, countered media narratives by stating, “We see at our distribution sites something people haven’t seen in a long time in the Gaza Strip: we see smiles every single day on the faces of women, on the faces of children,” underscoring the positive impact of their Gaza civilian relief efforts.
