WeRide, a global leader in autonomous driving technology, has unveiled its impressive financial results for the second quarter of 2025, signaling a period of accelerated commercial momentum and significant growth in its core Robotaxi business. The company’s robust performance underscores its strategic vision and successful global expansion, setting new benchmarks within the burgeoning autonomous vehicle industry.
For Q2 2025, WeRide reported a total quarterly revenue of US$17.8 million, marking a substantial 60.8% increase year-on-year. This notable surge in revenue highlights the company’s expanding market footprint and its ability to effectively monetize its advanced self-driving technology solutions across various operational fronts.
A primary driver of this financial success was the remarkable growth in Robotaxi revenue, which soared by an astounding 836.7% year-on-year to reach US$6.4 million. This figure represents the highest-ever Robotaxi revenue recorded since WeRide’s inception, contributing a significant 36.1% to the total revenue, marking the highest concentration of Robotaxi revenue since 2021.
The company’s gross profit also demonstrated steady growth, increasing by 40.6% year-on-year, further reflecting the improved unit economics and operational efficiencies within its scaling Robotaxi operations. This sustained profitability trend indicates a maturing business model with strong long-term viability.
In a strategic move to accelerate regional commercialization, WeRide’s Robotaxi fleet size has tripled since early 2024, maintaining its position as the largest Robotaxi fleet outside of the US and China. This expansion, coupled with over 2,200 days of safe Robotaxi operations, firmly establishes WeRide as an industry leader in safety and operational reliability.
Looking ahead, WeRide plans ambitious fleet growth, aiming to expand its Robotaxi operations into new key areas such as Khalifa City, Masdar City, and additional downtown areas throughout 2025. This expansion strategy is poised to further enhance market penetration and consolidate WeRide’s leadership in autonomous mobility.
WeRide’s Founder, Chairman, and CEO, emphasized the pivotal nature of this quarter’s performance, attributing the rapid growth to their strategic vision grounded in expansion and strong global partnerships. He also highlighted the deployment of the latest NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor Chips-powered HPC 3.0 platform on their GXR Robotaxi, showcasing the company’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and setting new benchmarks for scalable, high-performance autonomous driving.
The Chief Financial Officer and Head of International elaborated on the sound execution of their growth strategy, noting the increasing contribution from the Robotaxi business as central to their financial strength. The growing international footprint, particularly in regions like the UAE, demonstrates improved unit economics and the realization of sustainable commercial viability for Robotaxi fleets.
