The annual Woodward Dream Cruise is set to ignite Oakland County with an unparalleled display of automotive grandeur and community spirit. This eagerly anticipated event transforms the historic Woodward Avenue into a vibrant spectacle of classic cars, lively parades, and diverse entertainment, drawing enthusiasts and families from across the region. While the official Woodward Dream Cruise date is August 16th, running from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the excitement begins much earlier with a week of pre-cruise activities. Attendees will find official Dream Cruise merchandise available for purchase at various locations along Woodward Avenue on August 15th and 16th, providing ample opportunity to commemorate their experience with authentic memorabilia.

The Berkley CruiseFest, kicking off on Friday, August 15th, in downtown Berkley, promises a full day of family entertainment. Highlights include a classic car parade starting at 6:30 p.m. on 12 Mile Road, followed by children’s activities, an outdoor movie, and live music performances. This community-focused event also features the Tri-Community Coalition street dance party, making it a multifaceted attraction for all ages.

Birmingham joins the celebration with its Cruise Event on Saturday, August 16th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. along South Old Woodward Avenue. Presented by the Birmingham Shopping District, this event showcases hundreds of classic cars, interactive exhibits from Chevrolet, and vendors offering official cruise and Detroit-made merchandise. Live broadcasts from WOMC 104.3 FM add to the festive atmosphere, complemented by convenient parking options.

Beyond the festivities, the Woodward Dream Cruise also embraces a significant philanthropic component through the Dreams Come True on Woodward event. Organized by the Danny’s Miracle Angel Network Foundation (D-MAN), this initiative aims to provide “Dream Rides” for cruisers with disabilities, fostering inclusivity. The foundation actively seeks donations and volunteer drivers to support this heartwarming community effort, demonstrating the event’s broader social impact.

Ferndale’s activities span August 15th and 16th at Nine Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, featuring diverse attractions from a Formula 1 pit crew challenge and emergency vehicle show to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and a “Lights & Sirens Cruise.” Meanwhile, Oak Park hosts its Cruise & Groove Car Show on Thursday, August 14th, in the Water Tower Social District, offering classic cars, live music, food, and family activities, emphasizing free admission for all.

Pontiac revs up with “Roadkill Nights” on Saturday, August 9th, presenting thrilling racing on Woodward Avenue. The M1 Concourse in Pontiac also hosts the Woodward Dream Festival, including “Corvettes on Woodward” with Michigan’s largest gathering of Corvettes and a family-friendly atmosphere. For convenient access, SMART-WDC buses will operate along Woodward on August 16th, providing free, accessible transportation for attendees.
