Fort Carson’s Elite Aviation Brigade Deploys to Middle East After Epic Recovery

The 4th Combat Aviation Brigade from Fort Carson is embarking on a pivotal Fort Carson Deployment to the Middle East, a testament to resilience following extensive recovery efforts. Last year, a devastating thunderstorm inflicted significant damage upon a majority of the brigade’s helicopter fleet, rendering them non-mission capable. The intricate process of preparing for this significant Middle East Operations recently culminated at the Port Beaumont Texas. Crews meticulously loaded a diverse array of military aircraft, including formidable Apache, versatile Blackhawk, and heavy-lift Chinook helicopters, alongside essential ground support equipment, onto specialized container ships.

The 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, which the 4th CAB is replacing, has been engaged in the Middle East since February, primarily supporting critical operations against the Islamic State.
