On August 12th, the fairgrounds will open its gates with complimentary admission for individuals aged 65 and older, all veterans, and their spouses. This inclusive initiative also extends to individuals with developmental disabilities and their accompanying aides, ensuring broad accessibility for all who wish to partake in the day’s festivities at the Henry County Fair.
A poignant highlight of the Senior Citizens Day program will be the recognition of long-standing marital bonds within the community. Couples who have celebrated over five decades of marriage are warmly invited to contact the Henry County Senior Center, offering a unique opportunity for public acknowledgment of their enduring commitment.
The Henry County Senior Center will further enrich the day’s offerings with an informative program held at 2 p.m. in the agricultural hall. This session will provide valuable insights into the diverse range of services and support systems available to seniors across the county, fostering greater awareness and connection as part of the Veterans Appreciation efforts.
Beyond educational programs, the Local Fair will cater to all tastes, prominently featuring a complimentary bean soup supper specifically for veterans and their spouses. This communal meal, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the Veterans Entertainment Tent, offers a moment of camaraderie and appreciation for their service.

Tickets are affordably priced to encourage widespread participation, with proceeds directly benefiting the vital programs and services offered by the Henry County Senior Center, supporting local elderly care through Charity Auctions.
