Leicester is set to celebrate a significant milestone with the return of its much-anticipated Western Park Beer Festival, marking its spectacular tenth anniversary. This beloved community event promises a weekend filled with exceptional beverages and vibrant atmosphere, firmly establishing itself as a cornerstone of the city’s annual calendar.
Attendees can look forward to an expansive selection of finely curated libations, catering to diverse palates. The festival proudly showcases an impressive array of craft ales Leicester, alongside a rich variety of ciders, wines, and artisanal gins, ensuring there is something to delight every visitor. This commitment to quality beverages has been a hallmark of the Leicester Beer Festival since its inception.
Designed to accommodate all demographics, the festival offers distinct experiences throughout its run. Family-friendly afternoon sessions provide a welcoming environment for all ages, while the evenings transform into lively late-night gatherings, extending the festivities until midnight, allowing adults to fully immerse themselves in the celebratory spirit.
The event will once again take place at the historic St Anne’s Church Hall, conveniently located on Letchworth Road, adjacent to the picturesque Western Park. This established venue has become synonymous with the festival, offering an ideal setting for both social interaction and enjoyment of the diverse offerings.
Beyond the festivities, the Western Park Beer Festival stands as a testament to local philanthropy, with all profits directly benefiting The Baldwin Trust. This admirable local charity is dedicated to providing unique narrowboat trips on the region’s waterway systems, offering therapeutic and recreational opportunities for individuals and groups in need.
Festival chairman David McAuley underscored the event’s dual mission, stating, “Ten years ago, we started the festival so the community could get together over a few beers – and raise money for local charities.” He added, “Not only is it a great weekend for the community but over the last 10 years we have raised more than £60,000 for our chosen charities,” highlighting the profound impact this event has had on local causes through the years, including support for The Baldwin Trust.
Mark your calendars for this exceptional weekend, as the festival is scheduled to run from Friday, August 29th, through Saturday, August 30th. Doors will open at 5 PM on the Friday for the evening session, with the special family session commencing at 1 PM on the Saturday, inviting everyone to partake in the decennial celebration of beer, gin, and community spirit.
