The Bulls Head, a beloved Burslem institution, has unveiled a significant transformation designed to enhance both its aesthetic appeal and operational efficiency, promising a revitalized experience for patrons and loyal Port Vale fans alike.
Located in St John’s Square, this popular establishment, long cherished by ale connoisseurs, has undergone extensive renovations. These changes aim to address long-standing operational challenges and significantly improve the overall customer journey at this renowned Burslem pub.
At the heart of the overhaul is a state-of-the-art new bar installation, complemented by cutting-edge tills and upgraded beer lines. Furthermore, the subterranean cellar has received a comprehensive refurbishment, ensuring optimal beer quality and service flow, a crucial step in this major pub renovation.
Owners Craig and Loren Skelding, stewards of this Titanic Brewery-owned pub, emphasized that these strategic enhancements are a direct response to previous inefficiencies. The prior single-till system frequently resulted in considerable queues, particularly during peak times, detracting from the customer experience and requiring a substantial hospitality upgrade.
The introduction of a second permanent till behind the main bar, alongside plans for an additional outdoor bar with its own till in the beer garden for game days, dramatically improves service capacity. This expansion not only reduces wait times but also allows the pub to reclaim its open, community-focused ambiance.
Craig and Loren expressed their commitment to preserving the pub’s community essence within Stoke-on-Trent leisure offerings. They noted that the previous layout, with large kegs prominently displayed, hindered interaction, a factor they were keen to rectify with the new, more open design.
The revitalization of The Bulls Head also serves as a positive indicator for the broader Burslem business landscape, particularly in light of Port Vale’s recent League One promotion. This synergy underscores the pub’s role as a community hub benefiting from and contributing to local prosperity and the area’s hospitality upgrade.
Patrons can now enjoy the newly transformed space during updated operating hours: Monday to Thursday from 3 PM to 10 PM, and extended hours from midday to 11 PM on Fridays through Sundays, offering ample opportunity to experience the enhanced services and the transformed Bulls Head.
