Cedar Wealth Management’s Major Investment in iShares TLT ETF

Cedar Wealth Management LLC has recently made a notable strategic move, establishing a new position in the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ:TLT). This significant investment underscores the firm’s calculated approach to portfolio diversification and market engagement, as detailed in its latest Form 13F filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission.

The financial disclosure reveals that Cedar Wealth Management LLC acquired a substantial 2,926 shares of the exchange-traded fund’s stock during the first quarter. This initial stake is valued at approximately $266,000, representing a clear commitment to long-term treasury bond exposure and a calculated entry into a prominent fixed-income asset.

Beyond Cedar Wealth Management’s new entry, the TLT ETF has garnered considerable attention from a multitude of other institutional investors and prominent hedge funds. Several major players have significantly adjusted their holdings, reflecting a broader pattern of institutional capital flow into long-duration treasury bonds and the strategic importance of this asset class.

Notably, Envestnet Asset Management Inc. demonstrated strong confidence by boosting its stake in the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF by 1.9% during the fourth quarter. This increase brought their total ownership to an impressive 15,956,950 shares, valued at a staggering $1,393,520,000, following the acquisition of an additional 298,003 shares.

Further solidifying this trend, FMR LLC dramatically increased its position in TLT by 24.3% in the same quarter, accumulating 7,274,989 shares now worth $635,325,000 after purchasing 1,421,699 additional shares. Capula Management Ltd also made a significant entrance, buying a new position valued at approximately $455,550,000, underscoring diversified interest in these investment vehicles.

Other notable adjustments include Mackenzie Financial Corp boosting its stake by 0.9% to 3,911,300 shares, valued at $341,574,000, by adding 35,500 shares. Mirae Asset Global Investments Co. Ltd. similarly increased its holdings by 10.5% in the first quarter, reaching 2,683,818 shares, valued at $241,923,000, by acquiring 254,544 additional shares.

Collectively, these significant movements by major financial entities highlight that institutional investors now command a substantial 73.33% of the TLT ETF’s stock. This high level of institutional ownership reflects a strong belief in the fund’s stability and its role within diversified investment portfolios, despite recent market fluctuations.

On the trading front, shares of TLT opened at $87.82 on Friday, navigating market dynamics with a 50-day simple moving average of $86.35 and a 200-day simple moving average of $87.89. The ETF has experienced a 52-week trading range between a low of $83.29 and a high of $101.64, with a current market capitalization of $49.10 billion, a P/E ratio of -6.75, and a beta of 0.06.
